We've seen hundred of threads regarding availability of 2010 Civic Si's - be it a coupe or a sedan. It's a shame that I passed up the opportunity to get into a new Si a few months ago, they had the exact config that I wanted - a black Si coupe.
After deciding to get out of my current car and into a new Si, both Honda dealers here in Rochester, NY could not find me ANY Si's - coupes and sedans are nowhere to be found. Rumor has it that Honda is only allocating a few Si's for the entire state of New York for 2011. Whether or not that's true is beyond me.
After walking around the lot impatiently, knowing that I wouldn't be happy in just a regular Civic with a 140hp engine, I noticed they had a Polished Metallic Civic Si sedan on the lot - but it was a 2009! Due to the residual value of the car, they showed me some numbers and I quickly realized it would be a waste to lease the car, so I decided on a buy. I really wanted to get into an Si badly.
We would like to hear your comments about the availability of the Si's in 2011. Why isn't Honda telling dealers how many they are allocating? Si's sell so well anyways, are they doing this purposely to increase demand even more? I've seen a quote on a forum once and I can't stress it more:
"Sometimes scarcity is artificially created."
Your thoughts?
