Our vision at Civic is to give people more control over their digital assets and their identities. This is why we’ve been hard at work building Civic Wallet, which is currently being tested by our waitlisted users. Our secure identity platform is a flexible ecosystem with many applications. One use case of the technology is for building access systems.

We’re delighted to announce that Johnson Controls has released Tyco Software House C•CURE Visit Verified Identity using Civic. The software combines convenience and security, improving the visitor management process and eliminating the risks and overhead associated with collecting and storing visitor data on site.

For building management, this means that front-desk hosts may verify a visitor’s identity without the need to store extensive personal information, which will ultimately reduce compliance overhead. By using the technology, building management will also be more equipped to enforce identity verification policy, whether at a staffed or unstaffed location, for example at a self-service kiosk.

Visitors to buildings using Tyco Software House C•CURE Visit Verified Identity using Civic will benefit from more privacy and control over their information. With a validated identity, visitors may opt-in to verify information and then securely share only specific details with the building security team. Visitors control their personal information at all times, safely stored on their mobile devices.

Typically, visitors must provide a valid form of identification to a staff member when entering a building. This experience may make visitors feel that their personally identifiable information is not protected, especially if their sensitive information is handwritten on a piece of paper. Further, building management may not want the responsibility or cost associated with protecting personal data. C•CURE Visit Verified Identity using Civic leverages advanced technology to enhance visitor privacy and to reduce the need to store sensitive personal information.

We’re proud to partner with Johnson Controls, a global diversified technology and multi-industrial leader serving a wide range of customers in more than 150 countries and delivering on the promise of smart cities and communities.
